I was contacted to interview for the position of an IoT Systems Engineering Co-Op.
The interview was on Zoom due to COVID and was straight-forward - the interviewers started by explaining the position and how it would work. Then, they asked me to introduce myself and explain my experience with work related to the role. It was an open ended interview but it allowed me to get creative and pitch my experience my own way. The role itself seemed close to a research job, which is in itself a fairly open ended role. I would have been researching and implementing an IoT solution to improve a product. I had no problems with the interview and I think it was suitable for a person that would fit the role well (creative, good communicator). The next day, I sent a follow up email. After a week, I sent another email asking if I could help the application process. At this time, a recruiter responded that they were pursuing another candidate and was transparent with the team's decision. While I was not very happy that I needed to email the company for a response, I didn't have a problem with it. Recently, after discussing with the recruiter, I was given an acceptable reason (I am not a student at UW and did not apply using Waterloo Works).
I was happy with the interview process with Intellijoint Surgical and will continue to apply to positions.
