I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Macy's in Aug 2013
Interview
The interview was easy. It was more of a BS session with the hiring manager. We talked about our kids for a long time, and then she asked me the usual questions asked at an interview for a remedial job (best strenght, biggest weakness, example of a time you assisted a customer, example of a time you had to use time management skills).

Describe a time you had to choose one priority over another.
I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (New York, NY) in Sept 2019
Interview
The manager interviewing people was friendly. She would ask why you wanted to work there and what skills you had to contribute. Also she asks questions on customer service situations like how you would deal with an unhappy customer.

Question 1
What would you do in a fast paced environment?
What would you bring to our team environment?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Macy's (Marlborough, MA) in Oct 2015
Interview
It took about 15 minutes
They asked basic questions, just answer confidently.
For me it seemed quick but since I answered confidently she already told me I would be hired after I passed the background check. If they ask you a question and you have never been in that situation don't lie and tell them that you haven't been put in a situation like that before and they will happily move on.
