I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr (Elmhurst, IL) in May 2011
Interview
The process was fairly typical: it started off as a meeting with HR and application completion. Following this, I met with three managers from the functional area to which I was applying. The in-person interview was round two following a successful phone interview, which was a basic phone screening with the HR manager for the position
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They focused a lot of my personal and professional ambitions questions such as:
Why do you want to look for new opportunities?
What do you enjoy doing away from work?
Where do you see your career going?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr (Elmhurst, IL) in Nov 2024
Interview
A recruiter form MC reached out to me via LinkedIn. There was a 45 phone screening, then I was extended two interview opportunities at their Elmhurst site. My first interview was with a different recruiter, then I met with who would be my supervisor for a tour of the site. Then, I completed a writing assessment and completed my final interview with her.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2018
Interview
After applying online, I was approached by a recruiter via email. We spoke on the phone for about 30 minutes at a later date. Not too tough, pretty standard questions, but classic deadpan, emotionless interview style on their part.
