I applied online. I interviewed at Microsoft (Munich, Bavaria) in Aug 2024
Interview
Process took 2 months; first screening call, Hiring Manager Interview, then Technical Assessment.
Overall very straight forward process, yet there was a time gap of two weeks between the hiring manager interview and the technical assessment, then one month of silence after the technical assessment because the hiring manager went on vacation and then went out-of-office for some other reason. After she came back, I received email that they wouldn't be moving forward as they hired someone internally for the role.
The onsite interview went really well overall. It consisted of four back-to-back 30-minute sessions, each with a different interviewer, which kept the energy moving at a good pace. The format was standard behavioral questions — think "tell me about a time when..." style prompts — so it was a comfortable structure to work through. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely warm and welcoming, which made the experience feel much less stressful than a typical interview loop. For an intern role, the process felt thorough but fair, and left me feeling positive about the team culture.
