I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Bengaluru) in Nov 2021
Overall the interview experience is very good. It is a drive conducted by Morgan Stanley and all tech and managerial rounds completed on the same day. It consisted of total 5 rounds. One online hacker rank test, 2 technical round, 1 managerial round and finally one HR round which was conducted after 3 days of clearing technical and manager rounds. Received offer letter in 5 days after the HR round.
- Online test : One dynamic programming , finding longest common subsequence, one general programming question, few mcq's on Java concepts. First round : Covered almost all basic Java concepts like static keyword, OOPs concepts, collections like hash maps, serialization, lambda expressions etc. Few coding questions like Kadane's algorithm, find largest common substring in an array of strings. Second round : Discussion on projects, questions like reversing a linked list, sort an array of 0's, 1's and 2's in min time complexity, question on sorting a hashmap based on values and comparable interface in java , diff between Hashcode and equals methods and diving deep into that concept with some few examples.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Mumbai) in Sept 2021
I was approached by a third party consultation agency to setup an interview at MS. The interviews were good. Since the role was of non- market risk, a lot of qualitative questions were asked instead of quantitative. After 3 months of interview with 6 rounds, many of them taken up by onshore VPs, they extended me an offer. The offer was way below my expectations hence I asked them if they could do some adjustments to the offer. HR said that she will hand it over to business for approval. After that conversation, no communication was received from their end for another 3 months until one day I called hiring manager and he told me that they already hired someone and was surprised that HR did not inform me about this. I sent couple of emails for an update. No reply to those. Calls were not answered. Such level of unprofessionalism is never expected of Morgan Stanley. They don't even have basic courtesy to provide a closure to a candidate who completed a 3 month interview process with 6 rounds.

One system Design questions and some follow up questions. Round 4. Managerial Round.

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley
Went through the whole interview process which was about 5 interviews meeting with various members of the team. All went well. It had been about a month and I get an email from an internal recruiter asking if I’m interested in an analyst role (which is a reduction in level), and I advised I was still waiting to hear about the role I already interviewed for. Next day I get an automated email saying I wasn’t selected. Not even from the recruiter I was working with, it was like the automated email when you apply for a role and aren’t selected to even interview. So unprofessional and disappointing especially for the amount of time put in by both parties.
