    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Navigant (Chicago, IL (US)) in February 2010.

    Interview

Very informal. They tend to let their practice groups do whatever they want in interviewing so you will get a good sense of the working culture through the interview process. My hiring manager was a pretty level headed and easy going guy (which is rare there) so it was all pretty casual. I think they decided they wanted me way before I decided I wanted them so that may have had something to do with it.

    Interview Questions

    • The hardest thing for me being brought in to establish a new line was not understanding exactly how merit based and selfish the incentive system there was. I would have done things totally differently if I realized that.   1 Answer

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Navigant (Chicago, IL (US)).

    Interview

Very disorganized. The itinerary that they sent me was wrong. I ended up interviewing with completely different people than they had listed in the itinerary. Each of the four people I met with was late to the scheduled time. One person, in particular, seemed completely disinterested in being there, bordering on hostile. They admitted that their current solutions needed a lot of work and that their retention was poor. I left the interview certain that I did not want to work there. My advice - stay away!

    Interview

There was no interview process to speak of. The previous company was acquired by Navigant Consulting and employees were rolled into the new ownership. Compensation package was rolled from the previous company as well so salary didn't change (for good or ill) from what it had been previously. Benefits did change.
