The interview process was very quick. The focus was on technical questions, as expected for the type of role. The interview itself felt a bit disorganised and there wasn’t sufficient time for questions from the interviewee part.

Interview
I was contacted by a recruitment administrator from Northern Powergrid called Louise Beattie offering me an interview. I replied saying I would like to accept, but I would need the in person interview to be the day after the proposed date due to being on holiday. She accepted this. On the day of the interview I travelled to the site, where parking is very busy and I had to park off site. On entering and signing in, I immediately got accused of mixing up my dates and I was a day late for the interview, it is only when I showed them Louise's email chain that they accepted that there had been a mix up and said "oh yeah our HR here is terrible for things like that". I then had to wait 30 minutes for the interviewers to get back from lunch and get prepared for me. The interviewers explained that it was a points based interview and were looking for correct answers. The interview covered a broad range of IT, project management and safety questions. Not much feedback was given at the time. 2 months later I chased Northern Powergrid on if I was successful not and received an email back the next day saying I was unsuccessful.
