I had an initial phone call pre-screening with a hiring manager, then a short zoom meeting with editor and general manager of the newspaper to which I was applying. The interviews were conversational and casual.

Just go in and hand in your resume. They are desperate, high turnover. Good to have gone to journalism school, for a reporter. Accepted, wait for background check and drug screening.
