Other Principal Software Engineer interview reviews for Pegasystems
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Pegasystems (Hyderābād) in Jun 2022
Interview
Had 2 technical rounds...
First with engineer who started interview with asking my current salary....easy + medium level leetcode qs asked...basics of multithreading and other basics architecture stuff
Second round with Hiring manager who again started with asking my current salary.....basics of multithreading, current project architecture, performance improvements, and asked about most challenging work done.
Third round with Director, asked 10th, 12th percentage and basic behavioural qs.
HR gave verbal offer with numbers. I tried to negotiate to my expectation amount I told before interview process started , they told they have budget issues and team members are not earning what you are asking for, so either lower down your expectation else offer is not valid.
I agreed with their given offer, but they became skeptical that if I am demanding more, how can I be satisfied with less now. On my end, I was simply trying normal negotiation which everyone does, but HR told me PEGA does not negotiates which I found weird.
Beware of verbal offers from this company. Get everything in written. This is a strategic move by Hiring team to lower you down. Also, they don't give Mackbook Pro to backend engineers which gave me bad impression about the engineering culture of the company. .

Interview would be 2 Technical + 1 Manager + 1 HR round. The interview would be based on that respective team requirement.
The interviewer asked about the current projects that are reflected in my CV.
