      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Providence (Edmonds, WA) in Aug 2021

      Interview

Once some initial tech issues were addressed, I was able to submit a revised resume and apply. Want to go back to school to become a med assistant; but also need income. My career has been marketing with many healthcare clients. Up front in the cover letter and on my resume, I attempted to be crystal clear that I had all the admin skills required. Ran my own business from fully equipped home office; worked in Silicon Valley Tech. Everyone did their own admin work. Three persons interviewed me. One was favorable in tone. One was quiet; and one had already decided she wanted someone who knew the Electronic Medical Record System. I get it. And let them know I understood how overburdened everyone in healthcare is. At the end of the interview I was asked: “Do you [even] know how to use office equipment?” I added “even” because that was the inflection in “know.” I was clarifying and polite in my response. If my offense was all in “my head,” I apologize. That said, Recruiters, hiring managers, and HR, if your view of folks over 50 is that they are so inept they cannot even operate office equipment—don’t interview them. For the record, go into FedEx someday; look at the ages of folks using office equipment. Folks in their 20s don’t do paper. Ironic to be insulted by a healthcare provider for my lack of admin skills. Healthcare has THE lowest tech admin. Brought my med records on CD from UT. Sadly my clinic can’t use as only does hard copy or fax.

I applied online. I interviewed at Providence (Canyon Park, WA) in May 2026

      Interview

I had a Microsoft Teams Interview in which they asked me some standard questions like why am I applying and what I'm looking for in a job. Also asked me to talk about my work history. Then I was invited to interview in person with a team and was asked similar questions.

      Interview

The interviewer was 10 mins late, gave no apology. Middle management energy. Asked me to role play scheduling an appointment by myself. The role would apparently provide coverage to multiple offices, which was not started in the job posting.

      Interview

A bit rushed. Only had exactly 1 hour with quite a few people. Didn’t seem like enough time to ask a lot of questions back or fully understand everything. Wish we would have gotten more time.
