      Transaction Services Associate Interview

      2 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tysons Corner, VA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PwC (Tysons Corner, VA)

      Interview

Applied through my school recruiting portal and got a phone screen then a phone interview with a manager. Then was invited to come up for a super day which was honestly hell. I met my competition, 3 other people. We had a breakfast with everyone interviewing that day (other positions as well) where HR talked about the company and benefits. The younger members of the teams you interview for are at this breakfast, I didn't know that and was caught off guard when I met a guy on the transaction services team for some reason. Then we got a schedule where I had 4 30-minute interviews back to back with senior members of the team. I didn't have a 3.9 gpa like everyone else at pwc so I was confused why I was even this far. First guy straight up asks me why I have Cs in my finance classes which I was anticipating so I was able to answer. However I don't think I was able to convince him that I'm not actually an idiot and he went on a huge tangent so I didn't get to do much talking. The next guy focused too much on my current job which isn't related to TS and it was obvious he was not impressed despite my best efforts. Another guy I really liked but he kept cussing and made it seem like I was a big party girl Bc of (once again) my lack of pristine grades. The director or highest guy showed zero emotion and everything I said he would immediately ask further into it for extra detail and it was annoying. Then I find out I'm talking to another guy not on the schedule and he seriously stared more out the window than me while he talked and it was really rude. Then I had to go out to lunch and spend yet more time with my competition. Basically everyone is a try hard and I could tell I was the dumbest one simply Bc I hadn't taken cfa or cpa or gre or gone to Africa to feed the poor.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at PwC in Jan 2022

      Interview

Really friendly people and straightforward process including case study and competency based questions. The interviewers were helpful and made the process easy which is nice. Some of the case study problems were somewhat challenging however I understood there to be some understanding if mistakes were made or items were incomplete as long as you were subsequently able to highlight your own mistakes and talk through incomplete areas.
