This was the biggest waste of time and unprofessional HR/hiring experience I've encountered. Applied online and got a recruiter response within 24 hours (which was awesome!) Had an initial phone screen that went well and set me up to talk to a VP. That's when it got odd. VP didn't really ask and probing or behavioral questions; just asked about my background and then gave me a candid view of the role and company (which I appreciated.) But then he ended with: "you should do some homework, talk to some others, and fact-check me on the details." I never heard from anyone ever again. Pinged the recruiter 3 times and got no response. No boiler plate "not interested" or automated response... nothing. In my 25 years of working in fortune 50 companies, I've never had or heard of a complete ghosting like this; maybe this is common but not in my experience. It's like they weren't really interested to begin with... but then why did you waste my time with an interview? Just tell me you're not interested. Not sure what happened and never had an experience like this since, but I'd say this was the absolutely biggest waste of time and unprofessional HR/hiring experience I've encountered.
