I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Reevoo in Apr 2021
Interview
An external recruiter contacted me about this role, saying it is a **REMOTE** position, since I told him I am not based in London, and he said that Reevoo supported working from home after Covid, so I was excited to proceed with the next steps.
Step 1. 1rst Interview - with Head of Data
Step 2. Hackeran test which included 2 Python functions (they were more like algorithms, one easy and another one medium level) and 3 SQL (easy) questions
Step 3. After I passed the hackeran challenge, they sent a Data Analysis task to do within 48 hours, which I presented after 2 days to members of the Data team.
Step 4. Next day interview with the CTO.
Up until this point the process was smooth and cheerful and once again the team confirmed that the position is *FULLY REMOTE*, but UK based!! I was very excited with how things were unfolding, with excellent communication with the recruiting team, the CTO and the Head of data. After that I was unexpectedly requested to have a call with the CEO and have a post-final interview (the CTO interview was supposed to be final). And this is where things went south.....
I got on a call with the CEO and she immediately made clear that she was not aware that the role was remote. She also made clear that she disapproved of her team promoting a remote role without her knowing.
This was completely disrespectful not only towards the time and effort I had already put in, with 2 technical tasks, 2 cultural interviews and one technical interview, while already having another offer waiting for me which I had told Reevoo about, but she was also very rude and disrespectful towards her employees.
At the end of the interview she suggested I take the weekend to "reconsider, if a remote position was really what I am looking for"..... Personally I would advise that they should be the ones to take the weekend to think reconsider moving into the new era of remote working and think of ways they can communicate better internally and NOT promote roles as **REMOTE** wasting candidates' time and efforts.
The interview with the CEO was deal breaker since I found the micromanagement, passive aggressiveness and completely disrespectful behavior to be red flags for me to even consider taking this opportunity.
