    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Robert Walters (New York, NY (US)).

    Interview

The whole process lasted around 2-3 hours. Spoke to the head of the internship program and 3 managing directors. Extremely in-depth behavioral/situational questions, you need to show you did your research on the company and the field of recruitment consulting (they will keep probing you until you give a well supported answer)
Tiring, but enjoyable. Everyone was friendly/easy to talk to

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Robert Walters.

    Interview

Got in through a friend. Met each person in the team. And had to go for a coffee with the group as the final stage. Apparently it was team vote and anyone can vet you out. Recruiters are social so there was a lot of after work invitations, guess it helps to work with people you like!

    Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Robert Walters (San Francisco, CA (US)).

    Interview

Interview involved a rotation of 3 cycles, each a 1 one 1 interview with the head of the company. Asked about experience, why this company, unique position of Robert Walters in SF vs other cities, SF specialties and trends in business hiring, 3rd party hiring/recruiting, etc. There were some redundant questions about applying resume abilities to hiring.

    Interview Questions

    • What makes the business climate in SF different and unique from other locations?   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

intern responsibilities were pretty rudimentary and basic, didn't feel I would learn a lot and gain a lot of experience

    Executive Recruiter Interview

Anonymous Employee in New York, NY (US)
    Accepted Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Robert Walters (New York, NY (US)) in January 2014.

    Interview

Quick phone conversation with hiring manager to determine compatibility. Had 2 in office interviews with the hiring manager and various team managers. Was more of a conversation than an interview. I had 2 years of recruiting experience and they were probing me and finding out what my experience had been and how I wanted my next job to be different and what I would do to make it different. Offered me the job very quickly which in hindsight was a bit of a red flag.

    Communications Director Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY (US)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Robert Walters (New York, NY (US)) in January 2014.

    Interview

I set up an interview with the recruiter at 8:00 am. She told me she couldn't make it because it was too early for her, so I acquiesced and agreed to 8:30 am. I had a job and couldn't spend all morning messing around there. Anyway, at abt 9:45 am I ask the receptionist if the recruiter is there yet? The recruiter finally saunters on into the tiny room where I was waiting and proceeds to giver me attitude. Imagine that, she is almost an hour late and gets testy with me. She asked me why I seemed annoyed and I told her, you are almost an hour late, would you want me to show up to an interview an hour late? So, the company basically black listed me from any of their jobs.

I'm really sorry to hear you had a negative experience as a candidate. We value punctuality and clearly we let you down in this instance. From your review I see this took place four years ago so I hope you have since found a new position that you enjoy and wish you all the best.
