      Cashier Interview

      7 Sept 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Everett, WA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Sears (Everett, WA) in Sept 2011

      Interview

I went in 15 minutes early, the HR area is not labelled, so I had to ask where it was. When I arrived, I had several people ask me who I was there for. The cashier manager came and we went into a little office. She was very nice and professional. She asked me the usual interview questions. Then she went to get her manager. She came back and asked if I could come back either later that day or the next day to have a second interview with her manager. She said she didn't realize her manager was busy in meetings all that day. I told her the next day would work for me.I went to the 2nd interview and it was very relaxed...the manager asked me a few questions and hired me. Now I just have to wait for the drug/background check to come back....I wonder how long it will take? Waiting is the hardest part...then I call them back and they tell me someone with my name and DOB in a state I have never set foot in has a bad check charge and so they won't hire me. Not matched on SSN or anything...the system they use...HireRight...they should be sued for defamation. I have never been so offended.

      Interview

The interview process can vary depending on the company and position, but here’s a general idea of what to expect: 1. Application Review: After applying, they’ll review your resume. If they’re interested, you’ll get a call or email to set up an interview. 2. Phone/Video Interview: A lot of places do an initial screening over the phone or via video call. They’ll ask about your background, why you're interested in the job, and how your skills fit the role. It’s usually a casual chat, but make sure to prepare by knowing the company and job description. 3. In-Person Interview: If you pass the initial screening
