I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sears (Yonkers, NY) in Apr 2013
Interview
applied online and like two days later i got called in for an interview. so i went and there was another girl there who was waiting for her interview. i waited for like 30 minutes when the manager came and told us to tour all three floors of the store and write down the number of employees on each floor and how many of them greet us. when we returned we sat down and had a group interview with the manager, the assistant manager, and some other lady. he was a funny chill guy and asked us if we had any experience, which we didn't and to sell us our phones and basically why we chose Sears. after that we had a second interview with the assistant manager where he basically told us what is required of the job and what he's expecting from us and then offered us the position.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"name a difficult time in your life and how you came over it."
Took like 20 mins. Very easy but questions seemed random. It also seemed like management had no idea they had interviews scheduled cuz there were several of us waiting for a long time
The interview process can vary depending on the company and position, but here’s a general idea of what to expect:
1. Application Review: After applying, they’ll review your resume. If they’re interested, you’ll get a call or email to set up an interview.
2. Phone/Video Interview: A lot of places do an initial screening over the phone or via video call. They’ll ask about your background, why you're interested in the job, and how your skills fit the role. It’s usually a casual chat, but make sure to prepare by knowing the company and job description.
3. In-Person Interview: If you pass the initial screening
Fill application form to apply and wait few days before submitting it to the company. Had to provide personal documents and references from previous employers. Initially was interviewed on a phone.
