I had a pleasant telephone interview with an internal recruiter followed by a very negative face to face experience. Two junior staff members interviewed me for a senior position face to face, which felt wrong as soon as I walked in. Both of whom were on the bench, and it seemed like it was practice for them and not a serious interview.
One individual was extraordinarily arrogant and hadn't got the experience to back up his attitude which made it even worse when his questioning was very aggressive and pedantic. He seemed to have a superiority complex and because he didn't have the skills in specific markets or expertise felt others couldn't possibly have them. Neither of the individuals could answer questions about the business, its direction or the future growth strategy because of their junior position. They couldn't even explain what they enjoyed about being there.
There was also a singular focus on people and organisational change / associated methodologies rather than flexing with clients, and it seemed to be more a generalist setup rather than specific expertise.
This might suit junior staff but not for senior levels.
