I applied online. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Asheville, NC) in Mar 2016
Interview
this was my 4th flight attendant interview.
I already have an offer to attend a flight attendant training next week but I wanted to go to the skywest open house to compare the overall company & benefits and to see if it would be a better job offer for me because supposedly its the best regional airline out there.
this group lucked out because only 20 people came and we lost like 3 after the company introduction and qualifications and after telling us that the set training date was set firm on may 4th.* expect to leave within 30 days after your interview for training and if you have an important event during or after your hire date forget it because- they bluntly said you would not get the date off. after that was when we lost 3 peeps.
I caught a few red flags during the introduction:
1. if you don't live close to a domicile and are invited to training you have to provide your own transportation to a domicile and then they will fly you to salt lake city) this was a turnoff to me because if you live on the east coast that will be an expensive plane ticket being that the closest domiciles are Chicago and Houston. most companies provide you with transportation to training if not anything else.
2. also the recruiters emphasized that you will thoroughly clean the aircraft (scrub toliets ect) and not get paid for it. its clear that you will be a maid/flight attendant. I read a previous review where one fa trainee really understood how bad it was only when on her ioe exam she was doing a lot of cleaning and almost quit that day. I understand light cleaning but full on cleaning and not getting paid? you are a maid lol.
3. they also said that you get like 800-900$ for training but you don't actually get that until you graduate training(what the hell).. they also didn't mention raises so that probably means its rare.
because there was so few people we skipped the public speaking(whew!) and went straight to f2f interviews. so i cant really speak on the part about being chosen heavily off of answers and your looks. most of the candidates there were not dressed professionally at all. i was shocked after having been to other interviews and seeing lots of flats, no panty hoes with dresses/skirts). I wore a business suit. the interview started at 6 pm and it was about 830pm before I went into my f2f I was 5th last. the 3 recruiters each plucked one candidate from the group and interviewed us solely by themselves. I had connie the flight attendant. she asked me if I had tattoos/met all the requirements/attend training. and then she picked at my resume and asked about any gaps. then she went into situational questions. it lasted about 15-20 min and she let me know that I would receive an email in 2 weeks letting me know. I think I answered all questions appropriately and I thanked her for taking the time to interview me! they ask that after you're done you leave straight away and don't stray back to converse with the other candidates.
I will update this after I hear back but unless my opinion changes I will decline the job offer because in a way I don't really feel like skywest really cares about their employees

Question 1
1) what would you do if a customer made an inappropriate remark to you while you are working..
I said just try to take it with a grain of salt and do not lash back at him. Ask him why he is upset and ask if there is anything I can do to help better his experience.
It was a virtual one on one and after this process they alerted me of my training date a week later. The process was so pretty seemless and the company is good to work for but any little mistake you make you can be out.
The interview process was quick and easy. The recruiters were nice and answered all of my questions. They explained how the benefits worked and were very knowledgeable and the company.

Interview
Most of the interview involved picking apart my previous work experience. Asked a few basic questions, they are just looking for a certain look. It’s obvious. My look did not fit the part
