      Interview

A recruiter reached out to set up a time to talk, he asked for me to list many days and times of availability (a bit condescending). Could have used calendly to make it easier and more efficient. I didn't hear back for 4 days, and the time he picked was no longer available for me. I replied back with a few other suggestions. Never heard back.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SoFi (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2017

      Interview

I applied online and had 1 phone screen with recruiter, 1 phone interview with hiring manager, and half day of on site interviews. The entire interview process was actually pretty quick but my frustration lies with the recruiter. She seem to lack experience and professionalism. Even as a final round candidate, she wouldn't reply to any of my emails. The only time she did write was to provide basic interview instructions, but even those emails were very abrupt and unfriendly. For example, no greetings in any of her emails, very short sentences and not much clarity. I showed up to the onsite interview not knowing who to ask for and she was not around to sign me in or to take me to the interview room. A week after the onsite interviews, I emailed her to get an update but did not hear back. I checked my status on Jobvite and noticed that the title of the role got changed from PMM to "Member Benefits Marketing Lead." I suspect that the PMM role got taken down and they are now looking for someone more experienced. I emailed to ask but of course never heard back. This is a two way process: companies are evaluating candidates and candidates are evaluating the company. After spending hours preparing for the interviews and taking time off for the onsite, please show a little more respect and hire better recruiters as the point of contact for job candidates. I have a SoFi student loan and recently got preapproval for a mortgage, but I’m really turned off by this experience.
