      Marketing Director Interview

      19 Dec 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Ottawa, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Spoonity (Ottawa, ON) in Dec 2025

      Interview

The interview process was lengthy, poorly managed, and progressively distressing, ultimately leading me to withdraw due to what I experienced as abusive, disrespectful, and unethical in its hiring practices. It lacked clarity, consistency, and basic standards of respect. The process did not resemble a legitimate recruitment effort, instead, it felt coercive and extractive.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked to prepare a comprehensive strategic plan with defined scope, internal inputs, and expected deliverables with the expectation that this material be sent to them to be reviewed ahead of time, blurring the line between a reasonable interview assessment and unpaid consulting work.
