I applied at the recommendation of a StarCompliance employee who found me on LinkedIn. The process went quickly at first, and I was pleased with the speed and professionalism with which everything was handled.
Then I had my third interview. The interviewer decided that I would not be able to keep up with the demands of the job and I was not able to dissuade her of this. The fourth interview was for a separate department; it was supposed to be with two people but one kept declining. This time it took close to a week to get a response from the recruiter, and only after I had reached out.
All in all, I don’t know what to make of this company. Both jobs were an excellent skills match and the people seemed great. My feedback was that I “didn’t have enough sector knowledge”, which certainly could be true, but as someone who is willing and able to learn new things quickly, it felt like a lame excuse. Also, essentially being ghosted was not particularly impressive, either.
