    Automation Test Engineer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY (US)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Tata CLiQ (New York, NY (US)) in December 2018.

    Interview

The hiring process is a 2-3 days process, including written test, f2f and test on computer to solve some automation challenge.

After these two mangerial round 45 min each

The last manger round was a really different experience, questions were asked and countered on the managers experience disregarding the the answer making it feel disrespectful for the I
Candidate, the round was not challenging on what the candidate knows but more of a what the manager knows and expects.

I was asked what would you do if you are given a project, what steps would you take

My Answer: sdlc i.e. requirement gathering, analysis etc.

Manger expected:" you should tell me wether it will be automatable or no "

The above question is an example how frustrating it was, since I am expected to answer steps not the final outcome.

Similarly my project working was questioned, why was my project slow (something I had said before)

My Answer: the servers were far and network issues caused impediments

Manager: the server distance does not matter.

It was foolish of me wasting 2 days just to end with the manager.

    Anonymous Employee in New Delhi
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Tata CLiQ (New Delhi).

    Interview

There were total 5 rounds conducted. First one was a case study, where you have to do exploratory analysis and generate valuable insights, followed by a case study discussion. Thereafter, the future rounds are more profile based, deep diving into your prior experience. They try to understand how much you have understood your projects and whether you know what business impact it is generating. The interviewers are good, informal and these are not at all stress rounds. Overall great experience

    Category Operations Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate in Mumbai

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Tata CLiQ (Mumbai).

    Interview

The process was 3 weeks long. It involved around 4 telephonic rounds by different managers and head from the system, 2 face to face rounds with another managers and 1 excel test. Most of the questions in telephonic rounds were regarding my past experience and what the role is all about. Face to face round involved couple of business case studies which I solved properly. Excel test was decent. They basically wanted to know how comfortable you are while working with the data. The H.R was not at all helpful in the whole process, most of the times I did the follow up for further rounds and she had no idea how many rounds are there etc. She failed to recognise me couple of times, I Mean if you are in progress with a candidate for more than 15 days least you can do is remember about his profile. After all the above rounds, which I thought went good, she just replied to my follow up mail that we won't be considering your candidature. I asked for a detailed feedback, so as it can help me to improve my skills for future. But no reply from them. It's very sad that being part of Tata Group of Companies these guys are not maintaining the standard and principles.
