I applied through other source. I interviewed at Tetrate (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2024
Interview
Did not value my time. Constantly late to scheduled interviews and different seem to be giving an honest overview of the role. Didn’t seem to have a sense of culture.

Went over past experience in great detail, multiple examples
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tetrate (Vancouver, BC) in Mar 2024
Interview
I was first contacted by a recruiter who takes days if not weeks to get back to you. He would message me and then go silent for days until I had to reach out to him again. Then he replied and then again days and days with no communication. Finally I met with two other engineers, one was the Manager MM and went over the role and my experience. That wasn't bad, he could've showed a bit more enthusiasm but managed to move on to the next round. Then I met one of the Leads I assume, he started drilling me with technical questions, it wasn't hands on but it was challenging in itself. He could've also been a bit more enthusiastic but he was professional and explained everything. I don't think I did good enough to move onto the next stage but he did say something that kinda made me realize I probably wasn't the best person for the job. He said, "if you like using Terraform, Vault, ArgoCD etc .. this is probably not the right fit for you". It made me realize that I do wanna keep using these tools so I didn't get an offer but I also wouldn't have proceeded regardless. Overall it was interesting and learned about the expectations of working as a CRE.
