Client in partnership with another healthcare recruiter, contacted NP, and informed her his client was interested in hiring her after initially rejecting candidate.
This un-benefited position, low balling on compensation, when California has higher cost of living, as well as dictating 25-30 patients to be seen in an 8 hour day was hardly a position worth actively seeking by anyone.
Jack Shirk stated his client was interested in an onsite interview, but the candidate would have to pay their own way to the interview (Michigan to California airfare).
When this candidate declined and informed Jack Shirk to withdrawal the application, Jack called this NP unprofessional when it was stated that their idea of the candidate paying the cost of the airfare was inappropriate.
One would think any recruiter out there would accept a rejection in an offer that has not even gotten to a phone interview with their client. But the hostility in which I was attacked was excessive.
A call earlier that day from the primary recruiter of a partner firm, had also placed a black cloud over consideration of this position.
It is inappropriate for any recruitment professional to verbally attack a candidate that declines a position. This is the most offensive behavior I have ever in 31 years in job hunting have experienced, and I have worked for many contract companies as well as dealt lately with recruitment firms, that pick up employer posted positions, and market them as if the client themselves has hired them to do this for them. Should be a law against this behavior of internet job board recruiters.
