I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thumbtack (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2021
Interview
Phone screen, take home test, onsite
In the end the offer was not better(depends on how you value private company RSU) than my current compensation, career wise it would be a lateral move, and they adopted fully remote work with satellite offices but I prefer a hybrid work.

Question 1
The take home test was a bit different from others I have done in the past. You don't get a large data set to do a thorough analysis, but the test was still very interesting. It was very open ended so you can make it as complex/simple as you want.
Onsite started with SQL test - subqueries was the max level expertise tested.
The onsite had another analytics challenge, which was 1hr of you working on it and 45min of presenting. It felt like overkill given there was already a take home test, but it wasn't hard.
The onsite also had a case study where you work with the interviewer and you would be working on a spreadsheet.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your interview experience at Thumbtack. Your feedback is very helpful for us to hear. We wish you the best of luck!

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Thumbtack (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2021
Interview
Expedited process to align with my interviewing at another company.
- Take-home analytics challenge
- Virtual onsite - SQL, case question, live 1hr analytics challenge, product/behavioral
2-day take-home was straightforward and fun in my opinion.
SQL and case questions as expected. Was caught off guard having to do another analytics challenge live, but it was interesting to showcase quick turnaround analysis skills.

Classic case question with sizing calculations. Some questions about project/cross-functional experience
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Thumbtack (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2021
Interview
The interview process involved a take home exercise followed by a virtual onsite. The virtual onsite was a combination of technical, behavioral, and case study interviews.
I enjoyed speaking with all the team members and they were transparent about their work and the company culture. My recruiting POCs, Michelle and AJ, made sure that all my questions were answered and also arranged for me to speak with senior team members to learn more about the company and the problem space.
I turned down the offer because I got an exciting opportunity at another company
