      Seasonal Sales Professional Interview

      7 Sept 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Sydney
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tiffany & Co. (Sydney) in Sept 2013

      Interview

it was very similar to that described by someone and dated September 20 2012. even down to the same scenario. knowing what to expect was a huge bonus so thank you very much to that person. there was an online application followed very quickly ( within 24 hours) by a link to an online pre hire assessment. this was quite difficult compared to what I am used to working at Mcdonalds and took at least an hour. it presents scenarios and you then choose the most effective and least effective responses a sales associate would make in the given situation. all of the answers had potential or lack of potential in some way. then there were self rating questions where you had to choose eg were you more passive or aggressive etc. a couple of days later I recd a phone call followed by email inviting me to a 'jobs fair' which is essentially a group interview ( groups of candidates that is). dress formally and conservatively as if for the position. they look at hands ( not necessarily pretty but well groomed) and hair must be back. there were 3 tables of about 6 and the HR people float about. first there was the video about the company. then we were in pairs and had to introduce the other person after a few minutes speaking to them. had to say why they wanted to work at Tiffany. try to think of something more imaginative than 'I really like the jewellery" which about 95% said. Also I noted that the HR people referred to the company as "tiffany" or "tiffany and Company" never 'tiffany's' so I used the same words as them. then each person was given a scenario. rather than have a 'sales pitch' as the earlier helpful review had, we were in the same pairs and had to role play. I had the same scenario...corporate female celebrating promotion and adding to work jewellery. my partner had a 50 year old male looking for 15 year anniversary gift for wife. there was a selection of 4 pieces and you had to role play how you would serve the customer. to a certain extent you are limited by the role playing skills of the partner and what they give you to work with. I saw some people fumbling and having difficulty with clasps so would suggest avoiding that if possible. also some people were incredibly rough with the pieces which I thought was not a good idea. finally the table had to discuss what they thought was good customer service..the HR people are floating around so make sure you make your best points when they are there and can hear you. they said they had 110 interviews from 500 applications for 28 places (in the Sydney, Australia stores (there are 2)). they said decision within a week and if you are asked for background check then you have been shortlisted. I haven't heard anything yet but it has only been 2 days so I can't say if I have been accepted or not. if I can't complete this without selecting something then I will check accepted but this is not necessarily true.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Tiffany & Co. (Pasadena, CA) in Sept 2023

      Interview

The interview process was based on applications submitted through their company website. I was emailed about a week after and scheduled to complete my 1st interview the following week. About 2 weeks after the interview, I was scheduled to return for a 2nd interview. It has been well over a week since the 2nd interview and I have yet to have heard back. No followup thereafter. Extremely unprofessional and unorganized. Not something you’d expect from LVMH.

      Interview

Fun interview meeting new people. Since it is a customer facing role, there were a lot of situational questions. They want to gauge how you will work with customers and upsell items.
