I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (Washington, DC) in Dec 2013
Interview
After my online application had been approved, there was both a phone interview to discuss my prior tutoring/teaching experience, preferred subjects, and hourly rate requirements, and a Skype interview where I had to complete 3 subject matter quizzes that were emailed to me during the interview. I also filled out forms for a criminal background check and a driving history check.

Question 1
Academic problem sets given during the interview. You know ahead of time that you will be quizzed, but you get the problems emailed to you after you start the interview.
You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.

Interview
AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
