      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Verizon (New York, NY) in Jul 2010

      Interview

First interview was over the phone with a very nice recruiting manager somewhere in South Carolina, I believe. That interview led me to an interview with the hiring manager, in person. The hiring manager brought in two other people into the interview for additional feedback. I went fully prepared. Since it is a sales position, you have to make sure to ask for the job at the end of the interview. It is expected. So I did. Don't expect a commitment there. A phone call/email from the HR hiring manager followed. By the time you get to HR, you're almost in. You've been pre-approved by the hiring manager(s) and they are just making sure you pass the HR interview. You're asked the typical sales scenarios. Go into your successes. Make sure you know the technology. Ask real questions. Be yourself. The company likes that. Read their Credo. You may get interviewed by more than one hiring manager, depending on the openings. So, be patient. This is a good company, so hang in there. It is worth it, especially if you hit it off with your future manager.

      Question 1

I don't recall any difficult or unexpected questions. I went fully prepared. Make sure you read everything you can about Verizon Wireless, their history, their future plans. I went in 6 months before the implementation of LTE. I had read up on all that technology and its competition. When they asked me what that stood for and what it meant, I explained it the way I would have done to a customer. I cannot over stress, be prepared. If you love technology and mobility, and people, this is the right job. It's a great company with great career potential.

      Interview

Initial Interview was professional. Interviewer was candid about the roles day to day. It seemed lots of people were unaware of how much field time may have been in the job prior to applying.

      Interview

A very long and tedious interview process that could be improved. Reducing the interviews to no more than 3 would benefit all parties involved. In addition, the discussions should be no longer than 30 - 45 minutes in length.

      Question 1

Describe a time when you had a disgruntled customer, and how did you resolve it?

      Interview

a little lengthy and follow up could be better. Would rather be told no then left up in the air as to why you weren't chosen. However if you are chosen they move rather quickly
