It started with a phone screening with the editor, followed by an in person interview with the editor and publisher. Everyone was very professional. They asked about my previous experience. I wanted to know what it would be like to work there, what turnover was like and how experienced the other staff members were.

Several phone calls with editor asking about experience in the field; writing test involved rewriting press releases; references called and asked about how photogenic reporter was and if would look good on cspan; met with managing editor, publisher, executive editor and reporter who was leaving before being offered job. Long process -- requires pestering editor to advance to next round
