I Got a call from their HR that my profile had been shortlisted and I had an interview couple of days after that.
The interview went smoothly for an hour and the interviewer did not cross question much.
An hour after the interview I get an email that my experience was not fit for the role. I was totally astonished as there was nothing in the interview I could think of that went wrong.
Advice the management and HR:
1. Shortlist profiles carefully and do not willy nilly call people for a full blown technical interview before you are sure the person will be fit.
2. If you are not sure the person is fit for the role, setup an introductory informal call with the candidate.
Advice to interviewers:
1. Decide what exactly you want to ask the interviewee and guide him to the solution you want in case you feel he is going somewhere else.
2. Dont reject a candidate just because he tells you a solution you dont know about, just tell him to not consider this solution.
Giving an interview is a taxing process for the candidate and he has to prepare for it. Do not waste time and effort of the candidate who is investing his time in you.
