I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (Ciudad de Mexico) in Mar 2026
Interview

Thank you for outlining your experience with our interview process. We recognize that a multi-step process can feel intensive, and your perspective helps us better understand how it’s experienced end to end. We’re continuously working to make our interviews more thoughtful and well-paced, and insights like yours play an important role in that.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear about the challenges you encountered with scheduling and communication during the interview process. That’s not the experience we aim to provide, and we understand how frustrating that can be. Your feedback highlights areas where we need to be more consistent, and we appreciate you taking the time to call this out.

Interview
The role was for a Design Systems engineer. The interview process consisted of an initial vetting by an internal recruiter followed by a technical interview. In the second, I was initially asked about my past experience. Then I was given a collection of technical questions to answer on the spot, mostly about things like very obscure cascading inheritance rules in CSS.

You have three style sheets. An element is impacted by properties in all of them. In the first imported sheet, a pseudo class matches the element. In the second, a standard CSS definition matches it. In the third, another pseudo class matches it, but only through the parent element. What is the order of precedence for the three definitions?
