Case Worker interview questions shared by candidatesHow did I feel working with a diverse population? Or What was my educational background.

I've learned, in the grand scheme, people are people, no matter race, sexual orientation, creed or gender. I have dealt with every and all population, the only commonality I've seen is that they need help. My experience and educational background reflect that, I'd be glad to give you more specifics if need be . Less

Based on our conversation if a client ask you your age what do you say?
2 Answers↳
Demonstrate honesty and transparency. Tell them your age, but reinforce the fact that age is just a number. Focus on not only your accomplishments but what you can do to help them complete treatment goals and objectives to ultimately get them out of their life, and to never see them again in such circumstance. Because that's what everyone wants. Less

How would you market a ping pong ball if there was no ping pong game or table?
2 Answers↳
I said you could make the balls glow in the dark for kids to use. Or put light in them, sting a bunch together and use as a floating light source in a swimming pool. Less

This is a very valid question when working in child welfare. You have to be a great sales person. The customers you serve have had their children removed or are at risk of removal because of abuse and neglect and you have to get them to buy into what you are selling, which is treatment, parenting skills, and so many other services all while they are very angry at the system. Not all clients are angry but imagine someone coming in and telling you how you are not doing what's right for your children and then telling you what to do different as a parent, how would you feel. You have to sell that ping pong ball people. Less

Assessment centre.

Hi mate I went through the same process for the helpline worker. I have sent all the paperwork and references completed. Spoke to the recruitment team and they said that the fact you have come that far doesn’t mean you will get the job. I am just curious have I passed the assessment centre? Or reference check is part of the process, regardless whether you have passed the assessment centre or not? Less
