how do you handle if you face an angry guest on the floor that the receptionist gave a not working key upon his/her arrival??are you going to tell the guest that it's the receptionist's fault?

You can go and sk other Front Desk agent to make the key to the guest, before you can offer a guest a place to sit and water, tell him/ she you are working on. it's nothing bad a Housekeeper go inside to Front Desk office and speak with someone can help you. Remember all employees who works in hotel have the obligation to provide excellent customer service because in the end all departments are in the same ship. i respect your suggestions but in my opinion if you can understand the question is that the guest was angry on the floor where you can not blame anyone on that.and you can not tell the guest to go down in the reception again or allowing him to sit in the corridor chair because that will makes him/her more upset because he/she will think that nobody is minding him/her upon arrival.assisting the guest to the reception is taking an initiative to make an empowerment to do the right thing which you're giving a service from the heart.. no madame!because if you are confident enough to deal with it you are not going to blame anyone because even me who's working and very familiar with what i am doing i am still making a mistake sometimes.what i will do in that case first apologize to the guest and if you can assist him/her to the reception desk i will take an initiative to do it so the guest will not feel that nobody was mindig him/her upon his/her arrival.i need to take an empowerment to make a safe decision without blaming anyone and comforting the guest at the same time.
