      Administrative Cum Marketing Executive Interview

      12 May 2021

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at iSmart Support

      Interview

The whole process was quite tedious. First they asked to do a English test (which i think is fine), then was asked to sit at a desk area without pre-informing or explaining to candidate that there will be 4 more tests to be completed. “Just type the words in the system and see how fast you can type”, ok so now it is pretty obvious it is speed typing test. Next, was asked to do Microsoft word test: explain What is Marketing? Or what do you know about marketing In 3 min. Next, Excel test: do an invoice or quotation from scratch in 3 mins. Lastly powerpoint test: do a product powerpoint slide and imagine you are showing this to your customer “because you are a marketing executive right? So you need to do a slide for your customer.” After all these rounds, this is not the beginning of the interview YET. Now FINALLY moved onto the meeting room where i met the interview, like the previous review left by another candidate, indeed there is a camera in front of you to record the whole interview process. Firstly, if you NEED to record the interview process please kindly seek candidates’ private and confidential permission before recording. This can be done via email before inviting them down for an interview. When i said i am not comfortable with the recording, they mentioned it is mandatory for their management review. I think it is disrespectful to candidate whether one wants to be recorded. Lastly throughout the whole process of interview, the interviewer explained mostly about sales and marketing work as she mentioned nothing about admin. My advice is to rename the job position to sales and marketing instead. And it would be also be respectful and appreciated if there ain’t anyone coming in and out of the room during the interview process. Horrible.
