How many jelly beans can fit in a swimming pool?

1 Answers

We had a similar question in my Conservation Principles class (Introduction to Chemical Engineering). Our homework question was to determine the number of golf balls would fit in our classroom. We had to make some assumptions on the size of a golf ball and the size of our classroom. Then, we had to mention the packing assumptions (there are two in the literature). I am assuming that you were given no other information and that you do not have access to the internet to look up the information during the interview. My recommendation to answering the question would be to state your assumptions on the size of the jelly beans and the size of the swimming pool. Additionally, I would assume standard packing. Then, I would use the calculator on my phone to make the calculations. Less
