I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at lululemon (Adelaide) in Jan 2018
Interview
The interview was held in the early morning (7am) by the store manager, then second and third in charge staff. 8 - 10 potential employees were sat in a circle on the shop floor and the interview proceeded with questions that were more lifestyle/personality related than retail/sales related which was unfortunate because I believe I would have had a better chance had I been offered the opportunity to a) do a trial in the store and b) explain to them my customer service and sales strategies. The manager told us to be short and sharp with our answers as we were short on time but nobody was - and they were more interested in people who did not listen to this direction and rambled on. I have an excellent history in exceeding daily targets and fantastic customer feedback but they weren't interested in this whatsoever. I felt like they were judgemental and exclusive toward anyone who hadn't tried yoga instead of recommending they try and being welcoming about it. I received an email no less than 5 hours later informing me that I was unsuccessful, however I was not as disappointed as I would have thought as I am not interested in working for a company who hires their staff based on whether or not they do yoga and what their personality type is.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- If there was a movie about your life, what would it be and which actor would be you?
- What gym/club do you train at?
- What is your favourite way to train?
- Tell us about a situation in a previous position where you made a mistake how did you overcome this? (only logical question they asked)
The process is very direct and open. They want to know about your goals and look for people who will take initiative and are people driven. Overall a great experience.

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you faced a difficulty in your current role and how did you overcome it?
Set questions and behavioral based. You don’t need direct experience either. They look for positive attitudes and good leaders. You’ll be fine if you speak professionally and positively. There are usually several rounds of interviews
