I enjoyed the discussion with the recruiter, a prospective peer in Atlanta, the person who would have been my boss, and the global director of health and safety. I also spoke with a senior HR business partner. I was told by two of the people that I was one of the top two candidates and I anticipated meeting them at one of their airport locations (the region spanned part of ~10 states and the middle section of Canada). All interviewers confirmed that I was in top two. When I followed up with recruiter 10 days later, he said they had decided to keep looking (I sensed they hired neither of us). I was not offended. The interview process was very effective and professional. I respected each of the interviewers and felt they did not choose me because I was either too expensive OR because I believe behavior-based safety (Heinrich pyramid) is ineffective. In either case, I am glad they know what they want and I'm sure they'll make the right choice. It's a well-run, professional organization and it was interesting to speak with them. Less
