How do you feel about discharging someone to a shelter who is problematic?

If it is necessary to ensure client safety, then it must be done.

If all other options were investigated and there was where else. I would attempt to find a shelter that specialized in the person’s issues. If this was not available, I would discharge to shelter and make a referral to a community based service to create a continuity of support. Less
