In two years from now, i see my self as an Executive Officer, new generations learned to handle all life pressures as a CEO- operations, logistics, handling their financials ,, educating themselves through on-line learning or universities campus. Marketing today is about the "evolution of products to meet the end-customer demands. End-results are the objective ,, more revenues are the target , larger market-share is the approach and latest technologies are the methodology. Be grateful, I think you "dodged a bullet", although the service they provide is valuable and important in the health care environment - this company is horrible to their employees. They value profits, above all else - which conflicts greatly from employees at the clinic level who want favorable outcomes for their patients. Less

I had mentioned that one of my goals would be that I would aspire to be an executive within 5 years. The hiring executive laughed under her breath. Need I say more about her and perhaps the type of people Solar City hires? Less

Logan - Regardless if you believe I'm self-centered or not because of ONE of the personal goals that I mentioned in my interview, do you really think it's appropriate behavior for the interviewer to chuckle at me in a condescending manner? Not sure what your role is at SC, but by not taking responsibility or apologizing for the interviewer's inappropriate behavior in a public forum, you are directly condoning that same behavior. In regards to coming to work for the company and not just yourself - You are right in regards to SC potentially employing me and that I would have been absolutely been part of a TEAM of people who ultimately drive the overall growth of the company. However, the original question was "what are your PERSONAL goals?" Not sure how mentioning my aspirations of moving up the corporate ladder would be an issue, as long as I played my specific role in the overall team. Good luck to you Logan. Less

Sounds like the problem was that you were focusing on yourself rather than the company which is what the hiring agent is looking for in this type of question. It is a gauging question to see where your mindset is at. With no disrespect intended, I wouldnt have put you through either with a self-centered answer like that. I wouldn't mind hearing your personal aspirations because personal drive and growth is important too, but more importantly I want to know what you are planning on for development and growth of the company. After all, you are coming to work for the company not just yourself Less

You could consider it a test of argumentation capability. In this case say exactly that, then give arguments both in favor and against. If the follow up question comes "Well what is your opinion, then?", say that you do have one, and you are willing to give it, but not in the context of an application interview, since this is inappropriate question in the given context.
