I have been working at Anglian Water full-time
Just like that I have completed 15 years service at Anglian Water. I never thought when I started I would stay at the company and not look to move to another sector. Anglian Water is a very friendly place with the opportunity to network and widen your knowledge. At 15 years service I now feel part of the furniture (in a good way) but there are still people around with 30 years plus service - that shows you it's a good place to work.
My background is training & development but Anglian Water has opened my eyes to a different world of competency and grown my technical knowledge with each project I am involved with.
I am very happy and enjoy coming to work everyday.
IT can test your patience some days!
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Anglian Water (Lincoln, England (UK)) in October 2019.
Competency based questions, based on points system. Very limited time given to answer questions and felt pressurised to come up with a response, rather than taking time to consider answer. It did feel a little like the interviewer was trying to catch you out and didn’t let you have time to expand on answer, cutting in. There was also limited opportunity to chat about achievements and what you could offer to the role. Totally focused on how well you answered the competency questions even though there wasn’t a right or wrong answer.
I feel the Line Manager needs more training with their interview technique, or alternatively, an experienced HR professional should conduct the first interview instead.
