I have been working at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina full-time (More than 5 years)
In the dept I work in, other associates and mgmnt are awesome, love the flexibility of working from home as a teleworker, training is effective and easily available and my supervisor does not micro manage as other companies can do from past experience. My supervisor is easy to speak with and I feel VERY comfortable with her and other supervisors in my area. Job advancement is available but you have to let mgmnt know - they are not mind readers. I basically love my job.
Sure our cost of the employee insurance is higher only because there is no middle man to help absorb the cost like other companies (this is standard and I have worked for UHC and Aetna ) but they also help put money in my HSA account that helps a lot before I start paying my own toward deductible. LOVE the end of year bonus - hope that continues into the future.
Advice to Management
Scary that India is being trained on a lot our work- job security is up most importance that seems like even though we want to make money if you take our jobs and continue to out source then the bridges may be burned that I may not want to take out our insurance when I will need it.

I applied online. I interviewed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Winston-Salem, NC (US)) in October 2016.
A telephone interview after you complete the application. If you get past that interview then they will schedule for a face to face interview if you get pass the phone interview ..you will interview with some form of management, it may not be in the department that you are being interviewed for ..then a drug test if offered a position
