I enjoy the people I work with, as they are an amazingly talented and hard working group, but Mgmt continually fails to recognize that their success in SOLELY due to the efforts of those that they disparage and disregard.
Lack of recognition. Mgmt replies that they don't promote individual recognition in order to avoid creating "jealousy" among peers.
Advice to Management
Remember that, just as in the case of senior mgmt, compensation(read $$$) drive performance. Lean is good, but when we become too lean, for those that remain, the burden can become too much. Once people start to leave, the burden again increases, and we spiral into chaos. Given our current regulatory environment, I would look to the sites with a proven track record of performance (in spite of the burden), and reward that level of performance. Reward not to those that dictate, but to those that execute the needs of our customers, internal and external.
