I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8+ months. I interviewed at GlaxoSmithKline (Philadelphia, PA (US)) in August 2011.
Submitted resume to the hiring manager through a friend. Invited to an onsite interview at Philadelphia. Flight, limo service, hotels and meal expenses were included. It was a whole day interview. One on one with 5 staff member from various department, lunch with 3 junior level staff members, and one on one with hiring manager. Invited to a second onsite interview. This was a two day process. Needed to give an one hour presentation with offsite people called in. One on one with 6 director level managers from other department and HR director. Lunch with potential direct reports. Dinner with senior level manager. Second day with potential direct reports and junior staff from other department. Diner with hiring manager. All interviewers were very friendly.
