    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Baltimore, MD (US)) in November 2020.

    Interview

I had two interviews (one phone, and one zoom meeting). The phone interview was a bit dull, and it was difficult to understand the two speakers that were on the phone from time to time. They use a phone conference system that is not so great. I thought I did ok in the phone interview. They asked me simple questions on my previous experiences, and why I am so interested in cyber-security for their bank. The phone interview was a 3/10, since sound was bad, and interviewers were vague at times. The second interview which was the zoom meeting went really well. It was a panel of three people, one of which was the main hiring manager, and the other two were senior level people. Everyone seemed very enthusiastic about the work that they do at MS, so seeing that really made my experience great. I would give the zoom interview a 9.5/10, and I hope MS maintains similar folks to talk to like that! The Zoom interview was much more technical about what I did in my past experiences as well as how they thought I would fit in with MS. They were asking how I would go about a problem as well as how I would work in a team. Overall I don't think I have seen a team much more excited about hiring potential candidates, and discussing the work done at MS more than any other organization that is not tech.
