I have been working at Morgan Stanley as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Tech intern, really great team and has more ownership over project than at big tech. Work life balance is good for interns

    Cons

Communication and soft skills are essential and may be hard to learn on the spot but it’s hard to do remotely.

    Senior Business Analyst Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY (US)) in June 2021.

    Interview

The adminstrative and recruitment process works at a snail pace in this company. As an interviewee you need to keep following up with the HR every step of the way. They respond with their own sweet delay.

Then, they will consider your resume for interview even when the business domain is not stricly investments and give you hope. Only to be dissapointed after the interview to know that your core domain experience is not "Investments". Such a waste of time and effort. Don't even apply if your current/most recent project is not "Investments".

In my experience it was one Indian guy whose role is Executive Director who joined the call with a round neck t-shirt while I was in business formal, that was so funny. The interviewer seemed to be in some kind of rush during the interview as in there will be a question and before you can utter few words in your first sentence, interviewer would rush to the next question. Never let me complete my full sentence of an answer.

Most interviews here is a waste of time because this company does something called I-140 for immigrants. To be able to sponsor that the company has to show some interviews and job postings on paper. So, they conduct such useless interview (why schedule interview when resume clearly has no business domain - "Investments" only tell us what we know in their feedback later) for I-140 documentation purposes.

The candidate for whom the I-140 is being done is already there selected for the role and working for MS.

    Good Luck!
