Employees rate Weston 0.2% higher than the overall average
I have been working at Ultimate Software full-time (More than 3 years)
Telecommuting is really easy, they encourage PTO (plus we have unlimited PTO), the health benefits are phenomenal, the 401k match is great. I've gone through a few managers but they've all had my interests at heart and have been very transparent with things that are going on, and it makes me feel respected as an employee. When they say People First, and that they prioritize their employees, they are really telling the truth. I'm also in the Product Development side of the organization.
I've yet to run into any kind of office politics at my level. However, while I don't experience it, I have heard and witnessed a bit of politicking at the senior leadership level (which I feel like is to be expected at any company). I would say the politicking at the individual contributor level is nonexistent, though.
There's typically a re-org once a year (since I've been here). So far it hasn't been very disruptive for my work, but it varies depending on the department. I feel they try their best to make things move smoothly. Fortunately all of my managers believe the People First philosophy, so although I've had a few managers, I've always felt respected.
The career paths can be a little foggy for the product folks and poorly documented and communicated, at least in my experience.
Advice to Management
Please make the career path for product peeps/business analysts more visible! It seems like it's unique in every team.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ultimate Software (Weston, FL (US)) in December 2010.
Talked to the recruiter on the phone for about 1/2 hour before setting up and on-site. The on-site interview consisted of a skill test and 3 group interviews. Not a bad way to get to meet a lot of potential co-workers but it also didn't allow much of a chance to get to know anyone or styles.
After that day I had to wait a little long for the results.
