Salary and benefits are great. VW brand is awesome. The job itself is good and rewarding.
Local management and HR are subpar to say the least. Promotions are given on a "like-ability" basis not on a proficiency basis. Employees that use FMLA or Disability are often targeted and harassed.
Advice to Management
Promotions should be given based on tangible metrics and growth met, as well as tenure, in said department. HR needs empathy classes on how to handle employees dealing with FMLA and Disability insurance issues, as well as they need to be more helpful, instead of impeding the process. HR also needs a refresher course on HPPA PRIVACY LAWS and what and who they are allowed to discuss an employee FMLA and Disability claims with.
