I have been working at Volkswagen Group of America full-time (Less than a year)
I have thoroughly enjoyed working at VWGoA so far (5 months)! The environment and atmosphere is very positive and upbeat. The work is exciting and fun! Benefits are very good- the company car lease perk makes driving to and from work fun! I find it very exciting to work for an OEM and am challenged on a daily basis. I have highly recommended this company to friends and former coworkers and provided Friends and Family discounts to those who are shopping for a new car! Work/life balance is very good and I am excited to come to work each day.
The onboarding process is a bit different with a very limited new hire orientation when you first join and an extended one later in the year. I have not attend that yet but am looking forward to it! I think the initial process could be improved but I felt very welcomed from Day 1. Pay is good but could be higher.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Volkswagen Group of America (Reston, VA (US)) in August 2018.
1) Phone screen with recruiter
2) Phone call with one of the hiring managers who called me late then took up the whole time talking about VW and the team. Gave me less than 5 minutes to say anything about myself.
3) The third call, with another hiring manager, was supposed to happen twice, but both times the person never called. I got an excuse after both instances as to why they couldn't make it.
Tried patiently scheduling the call again, but was then told they were going with someone else. It seems very disorganized, stressful and chaotic over there.
