I have been working at AAA Cooper Transportation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Updating vehicle fleet and dispatch system. Terminal Manager is excellent. Multiple positions in Local, Dedicated and Line Haul, most positions are filled but drivers come and go at times. Average 50 hours a week, straight time of course.

    Cons

Benefits are crap. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama for HEALTH, does not cover a lot of common medical codes use by other states. It's great if you can go to a doctor in Alabama. I spent well over 700 dollars on an annual exam because BCBS would not cover the codes used by the medical center. I stopped going to the doctor. SICK LEAVE, you must apply for Family Medical Leave after 5 working days of no pay; Then you can start getting paid sick leave pay. Too bad if you have a family to feed for that week. VACATION, use to be normal but it was changed to earned vacation. So don't plan on having any consecutive days worth taking. Yes it is crap too. Finally, smile, your on candid Drive Cam 24/7.

    Advice to Management

Correct the benefits and it will make AAA Cooper a great company to work for. Medical provider, first day Sick Leave pay, Vacation all need to go back to the basic business standards.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AAA Cooper Transportation (Troy, AL (US)) in April 2015.

    Interview

The interview was very laid back and the employees were easy to talk to. They were eager to learn about me and my previous work experience. Once the initial interview ended the rest of the process was quickly communicated by email. It was a good interview practice and very professional experience for students looking for jobs right out of college.
