Went through 7 rounds of interviews all with positive feedback, and even had an informal coffee chat as a last step with the hiring manager. The team proceeds to tell me that I am their choice and I would hear back with more details in the next week since it was a holiday coming up.

Fast forward a week nothing from them, 2 follow-ups and they completely went silent. I was actively interviewing during period and had multiple offers, and was able to witness first hand the recruitment process of different companies. I must say this was such a bad experience to be ghosted and treated like that after investing so much time in the interview process.

A simple note saying they went in a different direction or the headcount was removed would have been fine, but to just not hear back I think was very unprofessional. First time this has happened ever to me and let me realize that this would not be a company I would every want to work for if thats how they treat people.
